WHMCS Secure Credentials Module
There is no doubt, lots of our users, especially Resellers use WHMCS as a billing system, just like we do! There is also a good possibility you are using some sort of module to allow your clients to submit secure details, you all know what we are talking about, that text box you see in most systems below the ticket reply box.
So what’s wrong with using this system? It’s unprofessional! Your users want an area they feel confident in placing their information and a simple text box just does not do the job. We are betting you have seen and even used the WHMCS support system. Here they offer a dedicated page to enter login details in a secure manner and now we have created a module to replicate this function.
- New Credentials Tab In V1.3 allowing quick and easy access to customers credentials
Your customers are invited to enter login details to their services right after ticket submission. Details entered here are hashed and stored in the database. The support operative can then search for the ticket number to view the details the customer has entered.
The customer can choose to revoke access by deleting the details provided and the customer can also update the details should they need too. After the ticket has been marked as complete the details are removed from the database. If required you can also import login details by searching in the admin area for the required ticket and clicking the “Import” button.
The customer can add the following details to any ticket;
SSH Root Credentials
SSH Host (IP or FQDN), SSH Username, SSH Password, SSH Port
Control Panel Login Details
Control Panel URL, Control Panel Username, Control Panel Password
FTP Login Details
FTP Host, FTP Username, FTP Password, FTP Port
Htaccess Login Details
.htaccess Protection Username, .htaccess Protection Password
WHMCS Login Details
URL of WHMCS Install, Admin Username, Admin Password
As of V1.1 most of the text is editable but, in V1.2 we will be providing a lang file so users can customize all of the text.
Searching and Viewing Customer Credentials
To access the customer’s credentials you can enter the ticket number in Addons > WHMCS Secure Credentials. This will return all the details the custom has entered in a secure manner. Once the ticket is complete the details will be removed. In V1.3 we expended this feature and all credentials can now be viewed directly on each ticket.
