How to create a blog network in multiple locations using a First2Host cheap VPS
SEO hosting is one of the great features of our network. The ability to host content in different countries all from one server. By using a simple cheap VPS server you can attach a number of IPs all in different countries and host websites on each IP address. This is absolutely perfect for users who have a network of blogs. Google loves unique IPs and the more blogs you have on unique IPs the more reputation your network of blogs will have.
In our example here we’re going to use a Linux VPS on SSD hard drives, we use SSD technology because that increases the speed at which websites will load for our end users. This together with a clever cPanel setup will provide loading times as low as a second to anyone who visits any blogs in our network.
To create your blog network on unique IPs you will need;
1x VPS Server
1x cPanel VPS License
1x IP subnet
First, purchase your VPS server, you can configure our range of VPS servers to suit your needs. We’re using our OpenStack VPS with 40GB of space and 8GB of ram. In May 2017, our OpenVZ VPS servers will also be able to handle geographic IPs but at the time of writing this only our OpenStack VPS products can do this.
Configure the server to your needs. And add the subnet that you require. Leave the IP location set to “Mixture of locations” this will give you an IP in each location. We have only ordered a /30 subnet so we will get 4 IPs located in different countries around the world. Ensure you select “cPanel VPS” for the license. This is required, cPanel is licensed software.
Next, and once you have your VPS server you can submit a ticket to our “migrations team” request they install cPanel for you, this is free. You will need to provide the below information in the ticket to allow them to start this straight away.
NS1 Name Server
NS2 Name Server
If you also want to migrate sites in from a different host you will also need to provide access to your old cPanel account for this to be completed. The hostname is usually server.youyrdomain.com and the name servers would be ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com.
Once your cPanel server has been setup you will have a cheap VPS server capable of hosting websites in multiple locations around the world. You no longer have to host content with multiple providers, it can all be done from a single server.
To get started login to WHM and click “create account” then fill out the required details for the website you are creating the account for. Under “dedicated IP” select an IP and the site will be created on top of that IP address. When you run tests on the sites you will see it has been placed in the location of the IP address configured. Repeat the process and setup blogs on each IP you have.
You now have a server which is hosting content in multiple locations around the world. Just purchase more IPs for your server to host more content in more locations from the same server
