Client Area Upgrades – Dedicated Server Control Panel

The planned updates to the DSCP have been postponed until 7th February 2017 21.00-23.59

On Tuesday 7th February 2017, 21.00 – 23.59 GMT we will be updating the base software which the client area runs on. This will bring improvements to the customer experience. During this time a number of website functions will not be available.

During the hours of 21.00 – 23.59 GMT the dedicated server control panel (DSCP) will be unavailable and you won’t be able to perform any maintenance related issues on any dedicated or virtual server. 75% of virtual servers will be available using the SVM control panel at https://www.first2host.co.uk/vpscontrol

During the hours of 21.00 – 23.59 no orders will be accepted. Our support team will only be offering support for urgent issues only, an urgent issue is limited to an offline server or website only.

You’re advised it’s possible this planned work will overrun due to the complexity of the upgrades at hand.

Update – 08/02/2016

Unfortunately, overnight on the 7th February 2017, our client area upgrades failed. The complexity of the job at hand is huge. We run three control panels through the client area. Our VPS panel, OpenStack Panel, and the Dedicated Server Control Panel. This causes a huge compatibility issue when upgrading the client area which is powered by WHMCS. We’re placing these updates on hold for another week until 15/02/2016 whilst we investigate the root cause of the latest compatibility issues. As always we will keep you informed via this blog post.

Update – 13/02/2017

We’re pleased to advise the client area upgrades are proceeding. Over the weekend, we updated your client area and the DSCP these features are now ready for PHP 7.x. We have encountered a software problem with our API server in Germany. It appears a compatibility issue with some of our software is causing some functions not to work as they should. In light of this, we have modified the version of PHP the DSCP uses until we can resolve the software issue which we expect to be completed by 17/02/2017

Update – 16/02/2017

The client area upgrades are now completed, a final systems reboot has been scheduled for Sunday 19th February 2017. No customer’s services will be affected but access to the client area and DSCP will be restricted for a few minutes between 12.00am-12.05am. Due to our updates, it was necessary to stop invoice generation for some customers on the 14th and 15th of February. As we generate invoices two weeks in advance you will receive them on 17th instead. The due dates for services remain the same. As February is a short month some invoices way show inconsistent dates.
